Our story
edgeCMS grew out of a simple frustration, starting off by building the same kind of solid, fast, fully-controllable website again and again for clients, and watching WordPress and its plugin ecosystem get in the way every time.
So we built our own. Master CMS started as a clean, from-scratch content management engine, a real page builder, a real blog, proper user and role management, SEO tools, and security handled properly from the ground up, designed so that deploying it to a brand-new client site is as fast and simple as it should be, without carrying over baggage from one project to the next.
So who is behind edgeCMS?
edgeCMS is the brain child of Newedge.
Newedge is a website design and development agency that started off over 20 years ago in the heart of Northamptonshire. We are still located there today.
During our 20+ years we have designed, development, launched and maintained 100s of websites utilising many different content management systems. With all of them at some point we, like our customers, have been left frustraited and let down by failing technology, a failing plug in, a redundant module, and in all instances a heavy CMS.
This led us to making our own, lightweight, fully flexible, standalone, easy to use, great value content management system, edgeCMS.
This site, edgeCMS.co.uk, is both the showcase and the proof. Every block, every page, this page you might be reading right now, is built and managed through the exact system we're offering you. We didn't just build a CMS and write a sales page about it, we run our own business promotion on it.
